It's just flown by
Well, hello. We've been back from the beach for almost two weeks now, but it's just flown by. We were majorly under attack by ants when we got home which called for a different kind of ammo then we have been using. So we turned to GRITS! We spread it all along the perimeter of the house and it has seemed to help a ton. Google it - it's crazy that it works! So there was that and of course getting the sand out of/off everything and things put away. Then, we started to get back into the swing of things around here. Later in the week, I had the pleasure of watching Lovebug's two sweet cousins...and WOW, three kiddos is hard! One is alot of work, but three was crazy (as many of you know!:). I love the above shot of them all sitting and snacking! So cute. My awesome mother sent over a big box of her jewelry to play with which was a big hit, and Lovebug just adored having them over here all day!
That same day though we very unfortunately had our first emergency room experience. Lovebug fell and hit her forehead on our bleepin' sunken living room step. It started bleeding so badly at first and really scared me but head wounds apparently do that. We debated about taking her, but it was a gash and we wanted to be safe rather than sorry. Our first experience went pretty well though I suppose since there is an ER 5 minutes away and there was not a single soul in front of us! We were in and out in 45 minutes with Lovebug getting her forehead glued up rather than stitched. She was so still, patient, and just did wonderfully through it all. We were so proud of our brave little girl! Anyway, all is well and it seems to be healing ok from what we can tell beneath the glue. I'm going to be oiling it up like crazy after it comes off to minimize any scarring though...
We knew there would probably be a fall at some point once the gates came down, but she has been doing so good with going up and down the step. The fall didn't even involve either really, it was just that she fell/tripped and hit her head on the step, which happens to be Mexican tile. Poor thing. Life without gates has been wonderful for all three of us so I don't regret taking them down, but I just really pray this is the worst thing that happens until we are able to take care of the situation in there!
So that is pretty much what our last week entailed...oh and lots of wedding designing/planning/researching for an October one, which is what took up alot of this week too.
Well, I better run, but I hope to share some shots from the beach next week. I have MANY to go through as you can probably imagine :)! We had SUCH a blast! Anyway, have a great weekend. We have two family birthday parties so it should be a busy but fun one...

I can't wait to see the beach pics!
I am glad to hear that Lovebug is just fine. I am sure having the cousins around helped her to move on from the tragedy and get back to playing!
Unless you love your sunken den, you can have it filled in with concrete and it's not as complicated or expensive as you might think.
glad you're enjoying your summer!
all the best with the healing!! Children are amazing at how quickly they heal...I can say that, I have 4! And each has ended up at the ER at some point...one of the several times! (shes 12)...

cute photo!
Oooh that falls sound nasty, poor wee thing.
Sounds like you had a lovely holiday.
Oh no! Poor Lovebug! That sounds nothing like an ER experience i've heard! You were blessed! maybe a little grace from God on your first scary experience.
Thank goodness she is fine!
Thank you for coming to visit!
I second the beach pictures comment!
Ha:)

poor girl! ouch. but I'm loving the stripes in this photo!
Oh, I'm so sorry about the ER visit. I know how scary that can be...never, ever easy! My 3 year old is always getting hurt...two broken arms & two falls that left cuts worthy of stitches all before she was 2 years old! It's so hard for me to relax and let her be adventurous. Oh the joys of being a Mom. :)
