Happy Earth Day

I hope everyone has a wonderful Earth Day today! It makes my heart happy to see so many people now making lifestyle changes that help them live lighter and make less of a negative impact on the earth. It's very much an evolving thing with constant room for improvement though. I really hope and pray that more and more people will continue to be inspired to make every single day "earth day" and that in the not too distant future, it will be all be seen as the norm and way everyone lives.

The shot is from our Easter weekend trip to Turner Falls up in Oklahoma where we were definitely able to see some of the incredible beauty that our Earth provides us with. I have lots more pics to share sometime soon. Have a good one!

Earth Day Dinner

We celebrated Earth Day on Tuesday evening with a wonderful dinner of the organic vegan variety followed by some of my chocolate "Treehugger Bark" - all shared with great friends which included good conversation and baby/toddler wonderfulness. The dinner decor was kept very simple with the centerpiece being an awesome vintage globe we found awhile back - I love its colors but strangely some of the countries are the same color as the water, which makes it hard to find them - anyway, love that find! The globe was surrounded by rocks gathered outside on which I wrote green sayings and words, accented by some homemade soy candles. After dinner we went on a nice walk enjoying God's beautiful creations. It's so much fun to all have our little babies now and be able to share that together! Look at our little ones - so cute! Looking forward to Earth Day dinner 2009 friends!

Make EVERY day Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day - a day specifically designated to remind people to love and care for the Earth and all of its creatures. Our planet isn't doing too hot (actually it's just getting hotter) and we have to take care of it! We need to be good stewards of the Earth as God asked, and that means living a "green" life in which you conserve as much as possible. Our little nest has been a green one for quite awhile now, which I'm so proud of, and we truly try to live each day conscientious of our decisions and the impact they have on our planet, on others, and on us. But there is always something else we can be doing or NOT doing to make our nest and our planet healthier...and that's part of the fun - always adapting and evolving to better ourselves in some way and lessen our negative impact. We want to have the GREATEST impact on the planet with the SMALLEST footprint!! I hope that even if you're already living the "green" life that today your eyes will be opened in some way to something else you can do to better the Earth. For you others, I pray that you will see the importance of what we're doing, join the green team :), and learn to make EVERY day Earth Day!!!!!
