I'm Loving...
Hello! Things have been busy around our nest as of late but I wanted to share some things I've been loving recently...
These cute vintage Little People that I'm currently planning a certain someone's 3rd birthday party around. That certain someone LOVES vintage LP right now, as do I. Their colors are so fun and everything Fisher Price made to go with the LP sets is just plain adorable. I've definitely been adding pieces to our collection lately thanks to aweseome Ebay and my beloved Etsy.

This gorgeous vintage afghan I scored off Etsy from CaptainCat! Zelda, the seller, was so wonderful and even worked with me a bit on the price. It had been in my favorites section for quite awhile and I still can't believe I was able to get it! The rainbow colors are just SO beautiful.

These butterfly hair clips I made Lovebug for a local butterfly festival...and yes, by "made" I mean I attached hair clips to pretty store-bought butterflies. They looked so pretty landing in her hair.

Anyway, just some things I've been enjoying lately. What about you, what have you been loving?

Antique Weekend 2010
SO while our Antique Weekend trip was incredibly fun, it wasn't incredibly purchase-filled...which is completely fine, just different for us :). Anyway, everything we bought is in the above shot and it's all vintage Christmas decor. In includes a bigger reindeer to go with the two smaller red ones we got last time, two beautiful tiny caroler angels that match one I scored on Etsy last year, three different sized nativity scenes that I love, an adorable 1940's "ABC" Christmas book, and a cool hot pink bottle brush wreath. That's all folks! Cute stuff though, and again, we had a blast. I would really recommend if any of you ever plan on attending Antique Weekend to go to the first weekend ("Preview") as we normally do because we definitely noticed a difference in the amount of sellers and inventory, as well as the traffic. :)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends!

These two...
I had SUCH fun with them on our little weekend trip. They are just the silliest, funniest, sweetest, most beautiful and best things ever! They are so ridiculously cute together too and bring me such immense joy. I absolutely love spending time with them and couldn't ask for anything more. I am one blessed girl.

Antique Weekend 2009
Hello! This weekend we're finally off at Antique Weekend and we're beyond excited!!! We all CANNOT wait to get there. It's such a mellow time for us that we really enjoy and after not going in the spring, I'm itching like crazy to get there and do some fun searching. I took ALOT of pics of last fall's trip finds but never did a post on them. I thought I'd do my computer a favor and do one so all of the excess find photos could finally be deleted :). So without further adieu, here they are...
We scored four of these cool vintage chairs that I absolutely adore! My Love remembers sitting in chairs exactly like these at elementary school. They are super sturdy and strong.

These are vintage stainless steel meal trays from an old jail outside of San Antonio...Lovebug loves getting meals and snacks on these.

This is a cool big globe we found for a complete steal and then the little one was just plain adorable. Apparently I like small globes. OH and with these vintage Nancy Drews and a few other copies I found on Etsy/Ebay I was finally able to complete my childhood collection that somehow had missing volumes. I absolutely adore the original Nancy Drew series and hope Lovebug does too someday :). I'd love to re-read them all right now!

I fell in love with this plastic Christmas village set...it's so precious. My Love did a lovely display on our mantle last Christmas with it that we all adored.

Just some other vintage holiday cuties we found for our advent tree and other random display. I do so love vintage Christmas ornaments and decor!

Apparently I really like these little Asian boxes too as it's the second one I've bought.

I adore matryoshka dolls as well and found these two adorable ones. One was a steal and the other one really wasn't. :) Anyhoo, I have fond memories of some our babysitter brought back from Russia when I was little. Lovebug LOVES these too...she plays with the "steal" set.

Oh my goodness, I love this bowl! The colors and design are just beautiful!!! I immediately grabbed it knowing it was mine without even looking at the tag. Thank goodness, it was completely reasonable. :)

We were lucky enough to inherit much of my childhood vintage Fisher Price Little People stuff and Lovebug (and I) LOVE to play with it all. So we're always on the lookout for pieces we don't have and found quite a few last fall! Hopefully there will be more this year too...

Here is a little collection of finds...an adorable painted cross, vintage embroidered fabric, an embroidered Christmas table runner, and some beautiful pillows from Guatemala. I'm a sucker for bright colors and gorgeous embroidery.

Last but not least is this absolutely adorable little plastic vase and vintage postcard. I fell in love with the colors in both and loved the fishing village scene.

Well those were our 2009 fall finds...hopefully we're finding fun stuff right now on our 2010 trip! Be back soon. Have a great weekend.

Lovely
This last weekend didn't go as we had planned at all as we were supposed to be antiquing here, but we still managed to have a lovely weekend! I got to spend some ridiculously fun time catching up with old friends from high school. It was our 10 year reunion and it was so enjoyable seeing where everyone is in their lives. I'm so glad we stayed in town and I was able to be there!
We were also treated to some lovely weather with an incredibly yummy taste of fall around here. I sure do LOVE summer and have had a blast the last couple of months, but I'm extremely ready and excited for fall and all of its fun activities and enjoyments. Aren't you??? Fall has me planning this and that in my head and I seriously cannot wait much longer!
In celebration of the coolness outside we headed to the park yesterday for some soccer and playground playing. It was great seeing SO many families outside soaking in the delicious weather and involved in various physical activities. I love to see active families. :) Well, I hope you've had an incredible summer as well and here's to the MANY lovely fall weekends ahead of us!
P.S. I seriously love all of these little pieces of summer around our nest that we've collected over the years...especially the white coral we found on a Mexico beach. But it's time to change the look around here to fall now!

Balance
Well we're back from the beach (it was INCREDIBLE - post to come) and this week was just so lovely! It was one of those weeks that felt like it had just the right amount of everything - a great balance of my work around the nest and Lovebug's "work" (playing, learning). It was wonderful because MOST days I feel like I get nothing done other than the playing, teaching, connecting, etc. (which is FAR more important of course than any nest work!!!). Then there are random days I get a good amount done but not enough playing and such happened with my precious girl. Not our days this week though...they were just perfect!!! Yesterday was especially fun as we caught up with a dear old friend and her precious kiddos, but also got a good amount of tasks taken care of as well.
We were able to get out to our garden some mornings this week which we both really enjoyed. We finally got our cucumbers out of the way a few weeks ago as they were looking pretty sad. The watermelon and honeydew have loved that and are trying to take over, but our okra and peppers are still going strong too! I really need to do a garden post sometime soon so you can actually see what it all looked like at its peak. We kept a tally of our bounty so I want to add that up and share that as well. Above are our finds from a recent morning. We have a good amount of peppers saved up now so my wonderful Love is going to make some of his yummy hot sauce this weekend.
Anyway, it was an incredible week and I'm ready for such a weekend with my two Loves! Have a great one!
